Hi all, I never know what to write here. I’m very introvert and have become very withdrawn post pandemic. Life was reasonable till then - but then the kids both crashed out offf secondary school - both diagnosed autistic and still very isolated. I was finally diagnosed last year as autistic and also suggested to get an ADHD diagnosis - but that’s now become very clear as well. I’ve been trying to put a brave face on everything and keep plodding on but it’s really become a bit of a challenge.

I’m an engineer, I love problem solving. I love reading or rather starting books - not so good at finishing them :) Play games to calm myself and love getting out and walking and really need to be super active. Really don’t know what to say I am just very socially awkward and lost confidence. I’m from the East Midlands so hi anyone else from the area :)

anyway hopefully I can learn how to navigate this place and no doubt there are plenty in similar situations that I can learn from :)
Thanks
Simon

Welcome Simon. I'm new on here having been diagnosed with autism and ADHD this year at the grand age of 52! Happy to talk any time. Talking of books, I now know why I have 6 books on my book shelf all started but not finished.

Hi!
Haha this sounds very much like me! I currently have about 3 different books on the go and it will take me months to finish any of them.
I love getting out and walking this is such a good way to regulate.

Hello, another 'sounds like me' here. Started looking into social anxiety support when I moved back up north in 1999, still had unanswered questions after engaging with the SA community. Diagnosed with Autism a few years ago, self diagnosed ADHD too.

Here's a picture of my retrieved bookmarks after having a 'currently attempting to read' audit a while ago!

Hi. Haha, never thought of how many bookmarks you have is a sign of autism. Good to hear from you.
