Interest Clubs

Another commenter suggested I post here. I was curious to see if other members might like to form an interest club of sorts? I was thinking perhaps American/Russian Lit/Pop culture but I would appreciate anyone’s suggestions for another topic/concept.

Don’t know much about it, my music knowledge is mostly limited to musicals and Sia, but it might be fun to learn some stuff and get a new interest.

Why did you mention Russian Literature? What do you the BCC latest version of '
War and Peace'?

Because it is a special interest of mine that I thought others might enjoy. I’ve read War and Peace years ago, and enjoyed it although I prefer Anna Karenina, but haven’t seen the BBC version as I am currently in the states so don’t really have a good way to get at it. I don’t suppose you know if it’s on Netflix?

Also what about classic Rock/Pop?

Music has always been a special interest of mine. I like rock (especially progressive rock or progrock), folk, some classical, some MOR singer-songwriter stuff, but these days my focus is more and more strongly on jazz. I'm constantly discovering new artistes, many of whom lived long before I was born. I'm not keen on opera, or any form of dance music (including classical waltzes, ballet, etc). Soul and mainstream chart music doesn't do much for me either. But that still leaves me with an enormous wealth of music to enjoy. [Just as well, as I have MS, so mobility is decreasing, and sitting-in-the-chair-listening-to-music is becoming more important to me.]

I'm off now to don my wonderful new headphones (Sennheisser HD800S, if you're interested), and listen to some music.
