How Are You Coping With The Heat?

While we've had the heat wave I imagine it's been too much for some of us, depending on our sensory differences. So let's check in and see how everyone's doing.

I don't like being too hot as it makes me tired and lethargic, but I'd much rather be too hot than too cold so I'm grateful that it's not the middle of winter right now. Although we bought a little air-con type thing the other day but it doesn't work very well. :/

Well, if you have seen my post of pyshical health, Monday wasn't a good one for me...

I hete the heat as well, heate been sweaty and warm, it drives my mad so I know how you feel.

Weirdly, we had a thunder storm today and I love them, even thought the first round of thunder freaks me out!

Yes, I hate the heat too, and also love thunderstorms! The sound is so ... astonishing!

The first few rumbles are a bi much but, after that I settle and love watching them, not much lightining this time. Lots of rain.

Yes, watching them is fun, but those sounds and noises! So heavyweight the world seems to shake! Majestic. I just love those amazing and powerful sounds. Oh, and the visuals too. We've had some quite heavy rain today. No donner und blitzen, though. Sun's shining as I write...

I can’t put up with heat either,it makes me crazy.
i Struggle a lot with temperature regulation and on top of that I have high blood pressure which is like boiling you from the inside.

one of my staff works In the respite unit next door which has underfloor heating and radiators on full blast 24/7 so when he does a shift with me he expects the temp to be the same here, and when it obviously isn’t, he turns the heater on max,and heats me up to the point I’m nearly fainting.
ivectried saying to him,to wear warmer clothes but he comes in really light fashionable clothing as he prefers to “look fashionable”,it just frustrates me that I have to boil so he can feel hot,as he likes to feel hot.

on those hot days we have just had (around 30c) he actually shut my patio doors and windows around 7pm so I put my tall fan on But it just blows around hot air.

I struggle to keep an even body temp so I’m absolutely miserable. The first half of the week was spent chugging Gatorade in a tub of ice and I’m spending the weekend in a nest of blankets as I can’t stay warm. I can usually stay constantly one way or the other but temperature extremes make that nearly impossible.

On sensory grounds, heat is worse. I find it unbearable to have exposed arm skin and I hate long sleeved tee shirts so I wear sweaters/cardigans/jackets every day of the year which is interesting when there is a heat wave. I don’t like sweating, I don’t like the feeling of my skin when it’s warm and it already has an awful texture and I can’t stand Gatorade/cold drinks.

That is an interesting comment, not really relaised that in myself until you menation it. I seem to be unsusually warm a lot or extremely cold.

I agree, I hate sweating. Been downsizing for a couple of weeks, moving stuff around, bagging things up and looking at what I can sell. That has upset me enough, but added to all that how hot and flustered I get. I've had about six baths this week and two in one day! Only thing I hate more is when I've been in the garden and get itchy.

Really cannot cope with being too hot at all. Especially if it's a humid heat and/or making me sweat. At least if I'm cold, I can make a hot water bottle and snuggle into a mountain of duvets... assuming control over my environment, that is: if I'm cold and can't do anything about it, everyone is going to hear about how unhappy I am!

what type of air-cond did you buy? model? And yeah I totally agree about winter time, when it is getting cold I really freeze my fingernails in car without a warming aircond lol. And especially in that moment my aircond broke and I couldn't do anything. I have called guys from socool.sg but I didn't know that they are not doing stuff with car conditioners (but only with normal, house ones) but yet they knew what to do and helped me. Since then I never left my place without being sure that my aircond is alright. And yeah, which one did you get? I think of replacing mine.

The heat has been really bad for me too. My aircon broke more than once, and i couldnt stand it anymore. My friends introduced me to a professional aircon service that has really been helpful in beating the heat! They do cleaning and mess-free installation.

I can't imagine my life without air conditioning. You should urgently call an aircon servicing . They won't let you keep waiting and will come for help whenever you want. More than that, they offer a wide range of servicing, regardless of the trouble, so you don't have to worry about it. I had a similar situation to yours, and when they came to set up the AC they even gave me a chemical wash for free. I didn't even know that such service exists, but it's just amazing. It feels like you've got a brand new AC.

I like when it's hot. After 5 years of living in Norway, I absolutely hate when it's cold. So I'm ok with coping with the heat. However, I had a lot of problems with my air-conditioning because it couldn't set up the temperature I needed. I thought it's simply broken, but their company's repair specialist said everything's ok with it. I later discovered that the issue is in my duct ventilation system. It was full of dirt, and that's why my air-conditioning couldn't work properly. I googled and found at epicductcleaning.com.au that they can repair and clean my duct for an affordable price. I just called 484 016 397 and after a couple of hours, they arrived to help me.
