Hi all,

New here. I'm a 35 year old who, after lots and lots of research, has self-diagnosed as autistic...soon to try and navigate the NHS for an official diagnosis...

Have been high functioning/masking my whole life, while struggling with anxiety and depression as a result - until finally reaching burnout a year ago and turning my life totally upside down. The year off allowed me to regroup, focus on my health and do all the research that led me here.

Looking forward to hearing more, and hopefully learning lots.

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for sharing your experience so openly. Many people here can relate to years of masking, late self discovery, and the burnout that can follow. Taking time to focus on your health and understand yourself better is a really important step, and it is good that you are preparing yourself for the NHS process with research and self awareness.

Connecting with others who have walked a similar path can make a big difference, especially when anxiety and overwhelm come into play. Some members also find it helpful to use gentle, low pressure activities to unwind during stressful periods. Simple distractions like casual gaming on GameHub Emulator can sometimes help give your mind a short break without adding extra demands.

You are very welcome here, and you are not alone. Looking forward to seeing you around the forum and learning together.
