Face time on a 1 to 1

HI, I was recently diagnosed with autism as an adult .
My therapist told me about ndsa and that a " staff member" could have a face time chat over a number of weeks to try and help me feel" happy" something I've not felt in many many years.

Is this the case please ?.
Thank you.

I think what your therapist is referring to may be the Pathway Wellbeing course. You have to register and then you will be considered for a mentor next time the course runs (we're over halfway through the current intake). So the first step would be to register where it says Mentoring/Courses on the toolbar at the top of the page on the website here. Good luck.

The sessions are one hour sessions online 1:1 over 20 weeks. The mentor is not a counsellor and cannot necessarily help you to be happier but they can help you explore your diagnosis and what it means to you in terms of looking into more positive outcomes now that you are aware of what may be causing you challenges.

There's more information here: https://ndsa.uk/tool-up/courses/going-through-mentoring-programme/
Ignore the dates on there. NDSA is a small organisation and the website is not always up to date but I do know that a new Pathway course is starting in September, although it may be full by now.

@Margot may be able to provide more information when she has a second. Alternatively please use the contact form or email toolup@ndsa.uk

Thank you for the reply, that gives me a bit more of an insight and what my assessors told me .

I've been that negative for most of my life I think it will be a massive challenge to be any different, I will find out soon enough .

Thank you again
