What's going on with the wellbeing pathway for 2026?

I attended one of the zoom information evenings in February and registered hoping to be selected as a prospective mentee. The website just has information about the two evenings. There's nothing saying mentees have been selected, and if you haven't heard from us, you've not been lucky on this occasion.

There's no information on how often each year there's an intake. I realise there must have been a lot of people applying because there were about 40 people in one evening and, (according to the presentation) 30 mentee's being recruited with priority given to county areas which are being funded, so the odds are not good.

Would be great to have some clarity on the website for future intakes

Yeh, I tried that. Got no reply. Emailed the toolup one and Marie replied and said we'll be in touch, that was early March

Just turn up at the above Zoom link at one of the dates to attend the introduction meetings 😊

In the introduction meetings, we will explain the programme and answer any questions you may have about the programme.

We plan to pair up mentees with mentors at the start of March and then start the programme on the second week of March (9th March onwards).

This intake of the Pathway Programme is limited to 30 places, so please attend one of the introduction meetings to express your interest.

I only went to one. This is from the email that was sent before the evenings. Assuming we're not talking cross purposes it only says turn up to one of the meetings.

I don't remember that being said. Guess I'm shit of luck then :ROFLMAO:

The website having more clarity would be good regardless, that mentees have been selected, information about how often intakes are done and when they aim to run them etc. Or an email to registered people

Hello BadWombat,

I agree that there could have been more clarity on the progress of the current intake. I apologise if this has been frustrating.
I also apologise if I have missed your email; it is just myself and Marie running the programme and sometimes things 'fall through the cracks' so to speak.

At the start of new intakes such as this one, we have mentees and mentors drop out for various reasons early on (often personal reasons). This allows us to reach out to potential mentees whom didn't initially get a spot on the programme to offer them one. This is the stage we are currently at.

Unfortunately we cannot say much in advance when we can run intakes of our programmes, as our funding is unpredictable as to when or if we will receive any from funding applications. We would love to have a rolling schedule year-to-year of when we plan to run our intakes, however we don't have the resources to be able to do this currently.

We are also planning to update our website soon. This will hopefully make our programmes clearer and easier to access, as well as add additional functionality for NDSA staff on the back-end of the website to allow our programmes to run more smoothly.

Thank you,
Bethany

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Just as an aside, should I have gone to both zoom meetings or not? I do stuggle to keep concentration so it's entirely possible I was picking my nose at that point :p

Hello BadWombat,

We had an initial 2 meetings that were the same meeting, but on two different weeks so that people registering after the first meeting could attend the second one. We then had a second, separate meeting a week after the first two for people to attend if they wanted to participate in the programme (basically confirming their attendance).

We have to do this, as if we don't, we end up taking on mentees that don't wish to participate due to not realising how long the course is (or how much of a commitment). The initial meetings go over the Pathway Programme and its structure, length, etc, and there are a few people that decide the programme isn't for them at this point for various reasons.
Instead of emailing to confirm who wants to participate, we hold a meeting for everyone that is 100% interested in attending the programme to join, so we can make a note of who is interested :) .

I hope this makes sense?

Thank you,
Bethany

Was this indicated at the zoom meetings or separately? It would seem I have excluded myself by accident

For refence the link stays the same for the 2 call so if you do sign up again and don't get a email just use the link again.

I know, I've only received 1 email relating to the pathway and that was for the two introduction evenings. It's the third confirmation call I haven't received anything for
