What are issues on which an autistic organisation should have a position?

The US Autistic Self Advocacy Network publishes position statements on range of issues from unethical fundraising to autism policies. What are issues if any that a UK charity should publish a position statement about?

Restraint in schools and in care; the use of ABA/PBS; how autistic input isn't valued and should be referred to when creating policies that affect our children. We shouldn't be seeing reward-based systems; there shouldn't be "special schools' just hubs that cater for children/ young people who need a different environment. Parents should have more support to navigate diagnosis for their kids/ support and organisations like this should support schools in some ways. Trauma can be avoided yet it isn't it impacts our well being and sometimes our ability to advocate for our children. Peer 2 peer support/buddies are needed to navigate the pitfalls and accusations that come when you as for more support for your child.

I think there should be a clear message of what the organisation believes autism is and what is not, a manifesto of sorts. In that vein, I think there should be a clear position on autism and its parent neurodivergence. Furthermore, there should be a clear message that neurodivergence is not just a person being slightly odd/artsy/peculiar, because that waters down the message and diminishes our struggles. The older among us might have grown up with ableistic and pseudoscientific ideas, or an understanding of our needs from a knowledge base which is now obsolete. This is not going to help us being taken seriously by society at large, and while we don't want to promote a medicalised view of autism, we should still rely on as solid a science as possible.

Hi. I'm new here. I'm AuDHD. It's topic dear me as well. I did write a bit recently, how I see misunderstandings about the idea of inclusivity, especially perception gap between allistic and autistic https://shayboski.blogspot.com/2023/05/inclusivity-what-does-that-even-mean.html
and what should replace it https://shayboski.blogspot.com/2023/05/inclusivity-what-does-that-even-mean_20.html

Where do we start?
1. Communication by the diagnosticians with this community. We've lost trust because they don't listen.
2. Community-prioritised research. Given the shrinks don't have the faintest.
3. Education provision based on need, not just at the bottom end, where not much can be done, but also at the top, where potential benefits are huge. That'll probably mean rapid schooling progression.

Could you please clarify what do you mean by the top and bottom ends?
