Hi everyone. I'm new here and was recently diagnosed as autistic.. as in, today. It feels a bit like someone has handed me the missing pages to a book I've been trying to understand my whole life. While some things finally make sense, I also feel a little lost and unsure what comes next.

I have a feeling I'll have plenty of questions, but for now I just wanted to say hello. Thank you for letting me be part of the community.

I'm also recently diagnosed as autistic. I feel like the diagnosis feels like a movie with a big plot twist at the end which makes you see all the events of the movie a different way!

I'm also looking for post-diagnostic support - seem like little/nothing is offered by the NHS.

The only thing is therapy which I’m looking to start. I’ve been journaling but other than that I feel abit alone in this. What have you found if you do not might me asking?

I've been getting book about autism out from the library. I have also joined online communities at the autistic society and on reddit.

There are lots of free resources (like articles and downloads) on this website:

Also I have been attending some free online sessions at Autism Central. The next one for adults is on Tuesday at 5.30 on the topic of self care:
