Hello,
Here is the initial guide on how to use the forum.

How to start a thread

Go to Forum >> top right corner of your screen>> press the yellow button 'Post a thread'.
The editor will open with all the usual editing options

You may choose to select a topic on the right of your screen. 1579737900414.png
To actually post the thread push the terracotta button at the bottom

How to make a post

After choosing the thread to post on, the message editot will be already open.
Type and edit your message.
Push the terracotta 'Post reply' button

How to navigate the forum

The forum tab in the main menu lands you on the page with 8 main subforums:
Chat
Autism
Employment
Relationships
Parenthood
Idea Fair
Advocacy
Hobbies and interests

Chat has additional sub-forums including Uni(versity)

The title of the forums with new messages or threads are in bold, forums you already read are not in bold
To read the forums

Push on the sub-forum button to go to the sub-forum and see the threads.

The forum also has its own navigation menu - you can look at new threads or posts, featured material, members directory and filter by topic

When you enter a sub-forum you will see a list of threads.
You can start a new thread in the field on top of the list.
If you type in the new thread field, the editor will open with all the editing options
You may choose the topic of your thread on the right so the topic will be displayed in the thread line in the threads list for other users to see.
To actually post the thread push the terracotta button at the bottom

How to start a private message conversation
Push on the letter icon in the top right corner
At the bottom of the menu in the yellow field push the link 'Start a new conversation'
The editor will open.

You can invite multiple people to a private conversation in a group.
You can allow others in the group or private conversation to invite other users - you need to be mindful to deny others inviting others if you want to keep the conversation private.

You can also start a conversation when viewing other member's profile

Yes

The private conversation is the main communication channel with the mentee.
And we can copy a link to Zoom in this private conversation? Do we set up Zoom outside the forum and then send the link in the private conversation? Is there a Teams link we can use within the NDSA forum? Sorry for all the technical questions but I have never done this before, thank you
