Hi, I am new on here. Diagnosed Inattentive ADHD late last year, Diagnosed AuDHD this month (explains a lot!). Self-employed creative but the last couple years have been a struggle personally. Finally settled in North Yorkshire after way to many moves within the UK and abroad. Love being around animals, especially cats, photography, music and exploring the countryside. Late diagnosed 50+ adult so there is a lot to learn. Life has not been easy - always assumed I was an introvert and socialising with more than 1 person at a time has always been a struggle, especially as an adult, but looking forward to learning so I can find ways to make life easier and self advocate when needed (I struggle to ask). Also looking forward to connecting with others and so grateful for this program!

Hello and welcome to the late diagnosed cat club!

North Yorkshire is a beautiful part of the world. I have photos from a lovely trip to Robin Hoods Bay and remember trips to the moors etc. My parents grew up in. Middlesbrough so knew the area well. I grew up in London, lived in Reading for many years, before moving to Devon in the South West 10 years ago. I'm not in an officially tourist area, but one of the many settlements that can be seen in the hills as you drive down the M5. It is photogenic though and I think living in a beautiful place is good for the soul. Our community is full of self employed creatives and I'm guessing has quite a high ND index. We have plenty of eccentrics and character. Like you, I'm still coming to terms with my diagnosis and what it really means, but I'm grateful to live in a community that is quite accepting of difference. It's probably me that's finding it hard to work out who the real me is after 60 years of not realising I was masking.
