Hello Everyone,
It's a lovely feeling connecting on this forum. A first for me.
I was diagnosed last December, aged 56, and was diagnosed with C-PTSD at the same time. I am still trying to make sense of it all, but am getting there slowly. It feels life changing, but am not sure how it will play out. Strange.

Hello and welcome!

I was diagnosed at 45. It took me a few years to fully understand what it means.
Ultimately all very positive, empowering and validating.

I was diagnosed recently at 70 but was told by a psychologist nearly 3 years ago that they thought I was autistic, for me it has made sense of many of the things that have happened or how I have felt since I was a child. Try to embrace it as a new beginning and a way of making sense of the life you have had so far but also celebrate the positives of being autistic and the skills it brings you. I have found explaining to people I am autistic and what I need to be able to function well has been a great benefit and relief.
