Hello from a newbie.

Hello. Mid 50s and diagnosed with autism & ADHD in December after a few years in severe burnout which I'm only now starting to recover from. Like a lot of people who've posted here diagnosis was a bit of a shock and I've not fully adjusted to it yet. Hoping to learn lots and to meet people in a similar situation so we can support each other through this. :)

Hello. My burnout lasted just under 4yrs. I can relate a tiny bit I hope. I'm all for learning together with people who are going thorough a similar experience. Oh welcome!

Wow 4 years how did you cope?
Hey Blue. It was off and on. Just built up being someone for everyone, whether they asked or not since I was very young. I left work in 2022, got divorced, sold our house and used my proceeds to go in search of a diagnosis. I'd worked since I was 13 constantly, I don't even think with more than a week off physically sick in that whole time. Couple of inpatient stays for diagnosis I never had, but money they were more than happy to take! Amazing support from NHS in regards to therapy for nearly 2yrs. Support from friends & family (the friends that stuck around after the divorce). Exercise, crafting, talking the usual. I could never quite crack mindfulness, requires you to be relatively still so i'm told lol. I must emphasise 4yrs seems along time and its different for everyone. I just reached a breaking point where I couldn't continue as the person or in the way I had been. I'm poorer in finance, home with my parents at 40, richer in knowledge and the stuff that used to matter no longer does.

I feel like I am entering a burnout so been looking at youtube vids on the subject, found one which i thinks fits me (might not everyone else)
.
To explain why I think this fits me and why, I have struggling with tennis elbow for about 6 months, I am a huge PC gamer but playing hurts atm but when I do play I have never felt this low but as my games of choice are fast action first person twitch shooters this really inflames the elbow.
Hopfully getting some answers soon about the elbow as have a xray as due too the amount of time they think it might not just be tennis elbow.

Hi Joeys. Thanks for the welcome. So sorry to read this but glad you are out the other side of it now. Mindfulness is a mystery to me too - my mind just cannot do stillness!

Sorry that you're starting to feel burned out. What games do you play? I'm a big Genshin Impact fan.

That's very kind of you. It sounds far more dramatic than it felt. I'm glad it not just me with mindfulness - it is a bizarre concept to me. Hope you are as ok as you can be?

Mainly fallout 76 and Battlefield, played the UT99 for over 7 years in the UT assualt league and have spent more than 2 years in game time playing world of warcraft, both back in the day and classic over COVID also play a lot CiV though cant not get into CIV7 shame as I have played every single version since CIV AGA back on the amiga

Hello there,
I just wanted to say Hi. I'm new too. Almost mid 50s, recently diagnosed with ADHD and awaiting ASD assessment. It's nice to "meet" you 🙂
