...I've now checked with FOUR character-counting apps and every single one tells me it's well under, so can anyone enlighten me as to why I'm hitting the character limit barrier...? I can’t pare it down any more, without losing things I need to say.

I've emailed support but, white I await a response, does anyone have any idea as to why I can’t post...? I don't post to forums that often (I'm usually to be found on Reddit) and the ones I have posted to haven't had a character limit; it'd be good if the message window kept count so that I'd know when I was approaching the limit.

That's really weird... Can you split your post up into two posts maybe? So post the first part, then add the second part as a reply to the first art? Actually if you chain all your posts together that way you can make one mega-post!
