Project Phoenix mentee course Lesson 5 – Prioritising issues that affect wellbeing

Wellbeing is a complex matter and one doesn’t always know what the issues that impact on our wellbeing are. Some people identify a number of issues but are not sure about how to prioritise them. Other people might be very clear about a particular issue, but might benefit from exploring more to identify some other factors that could improve wellbeing.

In this lesson we propose an approach of prioritising the issues. It wouldn’t give all the answers, but it might help in considering the range of factors you identified or identify and focus on some other underlying issues.

Please follow this exercise and discuss it with your mentor.

Consider issues that lead to you getting in trouble or feeling unwell:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Dealing with other people’s emotions
  • Anger
  • Sensory regulation
  • Organisation and time management
  • Meltdowns
  • Burnout
  • Boundaries
  • Friendships
  • Relationships
  • Consequences and recognising the bigger picture
  • Making choices
  • Making decisions
  • Understanding other people’s behaviour
  • Communication
