Health inequalities are a huge problem for autistic people resulting in 16 to 30 years shorter life expectancy.
Part of this is the relatively inaccessible GP practices. Key barriers identified in research as the need to speak on the phone for appointments and the sensory environment of the practice, as well as communication.
A way to address this is to use the attached scoring sheet to perform an autistic audit and to discuss it with the GP.
